What do you do and what led you to your career?
I am a Principal Data & Analytics Consultant, passionate about data and technology. Ever since I figured how to do my maths homework faster by writing C programs, I have been hooked to technology. It is my passion combined with strong business acumen led me to my career in data consulting.
It is not just a career, but rather a way of life for me. I have used data science algorithms to cherry pick the best houses to view & bid when we were going through the house hunting phase, built analytical models in Power BI to analyse our household expense, data models for calculating the best mortgage deal, etc.
What is the most important thing you have learned in the last five years?
The most important lesson I learnt in the last five years, especially during COVID, is the importance of Emotional Intelligence. By being emotionally aware, I was able to keep the energy and engagement levels of myself and my team high during the dark times of COVID.
I strongly believe leaders with higher EQ can help teams collaborate more effectively and identify the specific drivers that motivate individual employees. Emotional intelligent teams are one of the high performing teams.
How do you define success?
Success to me is living a fulfilled life and help the people around me feel successful too.
What technology is exciting you at the moment and why?
I have been excited about the endless possibilities with AI and Machine Learning. As a passionate cook, I am working on creating new recipes by mining millions of recipes online and identifying best (and worst) ingredient combinations.
What’s your go-to productivity trick?
My productivity trick is simple – have a clear goal on what I want to achieve, when I want to achieve and how I am going to achieve.
Positivity and productivity go hand in hand for me – the more positive I feel, the more productive I am.
